What sets the Hand Drawn Sumi edition apart is the artistry in its fabric. Inspired by traditional marbling works created with sumi ink by Kyoto’s Kamisoe workshop, each pair is individually hand-painted by a Yuzen dyeing artisan. The brushstrokes and shading capture the nuance of sumi ink on cotton, ensuring that no two pairs are alike. Like their archival predecessors, the trousers use iron buttons and engraved back parts left uncoated so they naturally age with time, echoing the patina of well-used vintage clothing.
